GTECH/Idaho Fish and Game Licensing

Challenge:
GTECH contracted with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) to provide a new automated licensing system. Due to regulatory requirements, the new system had to be online prior to the start of license sales for the new fishing and hunting seasons. Additionally, the new system had to allow more direct control over licensing rules by IDFG to meet regulatory and species management requirements.

Solution:
Network Effects provided systems engineerging and project management expertise to GTECH to allow the system to be built economically and completed in time for the game season deadline. Significant cost and time savings were derived by GTECH for Network Effects' engineering efforts to retarget a legacy VxWorks based lottery terminal as Linux POS terminal.

Results:
GTECH delivered the IDFG automated licensing system on time and IDFG was able meet the new regulatory requirements for licensing. The new licensing rules capability continues to provide IDFG with new species management strategies.
